I’m a mom first. But I’m also an expert in Disney vacations.
Disney has been my family’s prime vacation spot for over 12 years. And during that time I’ve visited the mouse over 30 times.
While visiting Disney that many times does mean that I’ve seen and experienced a lot, it doesn’t automatically mean I know what’s best for your vacation. So before you follow my advice, you should know my credentials include working with clients as a full-time travel professional for over 7 years, completing Disney’s College of Knowledge annually, and training on property with the Walt Disney World team.
As a travel advisor, I receive questions all the time from families planning their first Disney vacations…
“Penny, which is the best resort for a family’s first visit with a 2 & 4-year-old? The kids love Disney Jr. characters. We want to enjoy the pool and resort and go to the parks for a couple of days.”My recommendation ~ Disney’s Flagship Resort ~
Disney’s Grand Floridian Spa & Resort
Your family will be located on the monorail with easy access to the Magic Kingdom. I suggest spending your park days at MK, popping back to the Grand Floridian for pool time and naps.
There’s a terrific splash pad play area, zero entry pool and lots of grassy areas for outside fun. Inside, your family will find comfy accommodations with a classic clean vibe – including a convertible sofa bed.
More benefits
- Travel by monorail or ferry and you won’t need to collapse your stroller.
- Early morning character dining is easier when the restaurant is located at your resort. 1900 Park Fare is a fun way to introduce characters to the little ones.
- From bottled water to diapers to kid-friendly snacks, the resort shop has almost everything you’ll need.
- While the kiddos are napping with dad, it’s easy for mom to sneak away and enjoy a spa treatment in the main building.
- Hopping over to Hollywood Studios to catch the Disney Jr. characters in action is easy with Minnie Van Lyft service (car seats included).
